I'm thinking that the guvm'nts cannot institute traditional price controls as "everyone" knows they did not work in all previous instances.

Societal controls (the only true love of all bureaucrats) imho will be instituted in some new convoluted roundabout fashion and will not be called "price controls" or "rationing".
John Kenneth Galbraith recalled that price controls worked beautifully in WWII under the Office of Price Administration in the USA.

I just love how the rightwing in the South re-invents their own history, but John Kenneth Galbraith set the record straight: price controls did work well. Too bad that JKG is not still alive.

Of course he'd praise the job the OPA did -- he worked there! How could he possibly be objective?

So the rightwingers in other parts of the country don't re-invent history?

          Post numeral uno.

So I agree. I'm waiting for gold to hit about $eight & a quarter before I add to the all to little amount I have & paid all to mighty much for!!
So where's the best place to buy low volumes of eagles/maple leafs without all the hefty premiums so many are adding currently?

Welcome. Are you located in the US?

If so, and if I may suggest the following:
            http://allamericangold.com/

They cater to individuals and they also do a superb daily financial radio show on top of that (quite funny).

I am sure there are countless others: simply use the "search" function found on iTulip.

I personally have done all my buisness with www.bulliondirect.com . I have NO issues with them in the last 5 years of using their services. They are the only ones I reccommend as they are the only folks that I have first hand experience with (All Positive, BTW)

Just thought it was worthwhile bumping this thread up given gold's price behaviour this morning. Makes it easier for Mega to find it instead of starting a new thread :p

JT, when you have a chance, listen to the guys podcast (can you do that while flying ala topgun with a walkman taped to your leg?), it is superb and very funny, especially when both Eric and Joe do the show (Eric is the oldest and funniest but Joe is getting there).

You may even want to split your purchases in the future!

As for me, I cannot order from them since I am in Canada and duty taxes would make the proposition unwise, so I am reduced to use Montreal Kitco.

Greg, you forgot to "ad insult to injury" (is that also a metaphor in English...oh well):
