  • Goldman Sachs hires law firm to shut blogger's site

    http://www.telegraph.co.uk/finance/n...gers-site.html

The bank has instructed Wall Street law firm Chadbourne & Parke to pursue blogger Mike Morgan, warning him in a recent cease-and-desist letter that he may face legal action if he does not close down his website.

Florida-based Mr Morgan began a blog entitled "Facts about Goldman Sachs" – the web address for which is goldmansachs666.com – just a few weeks ago.

    renewable,

Thanks for the direction. I had heard about this site, but had not found it until now with your help. This information is extremely valuable in US market timing. I am not sure how long this rally will last, but I am looking for a hint that the latest plan is failing. It is not surprising that GS would try to hide this information since Geithner is trying to lure private investment back in to the market. That plan may fail before it even starts. I am confident the US market will go up during the week of 4/13-4/17, but I will be taking those profits off the table and building my gold position at the end of the week.

I hope Morgan can really run with this and make some money too. The notoriety should be worth a lot. A trial might just make him a Celebrity and be a wonderful Platform to beat the Public Relations Hell out of Goldman. Not to mention open the door for some actual Criminal Prosecution.

It really indicates the power of the Internet which these Giant Crooks do not yet have under control.

I know people that have worked for these firms. What I think what most of you forget, is that most of us here, would not even make it through the interview round. So who are we to laugh at their intelligence?

I laugh at their negligence, arrogance, and complicity with the gov't taking the wallet out of our p(ance).

It's really stupid to use their trademark in his domain name.

From my own (b-school) experience... the elite consulting and i-banker sorts were indeed very smart, and understood the case interview process very well.

Imagination, ability to synthesize seemingly random data into a coherent whole, or thinking outside the box? Not so much.

A handful at the top of the class (maybe five of them) could do that too - and I admired them the same way I do EJ. Very few people have the intuitive chops to have the brilliant moment of insight and also the rigor and organized brain to back it up with solid analysis.

It is possible that he wants to be sued. In America, Publicity is invaluable, particularly if it is free, or low cost. Some ad wags even claim there is no such thing as bad publicity. If you have a product or service to sell, lots of legal synergy. Hey, Goldman sue me, please!

Imagine a Jury Trial, the TV Tabs and Internet would have a Roman Circus.

Go, Mike Morgan. To learn more about Mike and make him famous:

Goldman must have some really rotten stuff to hide. Any knowledgeable PR person would have told them, do not go after this guy. Overruled by the legal folk I imagine who are worried about the numerous Dead Bodies.

I love you. You are like snappy answers to stupid questions. It's not that you are wrong or mean. It's just funny how you have a comeback for everything around here. Are you really Fred?

I know people in Finance at big firms. They are sure smart about money.

                            Operative word in bold above.

In light of how it was used during the elections, and during this economic crisis, it's just a matter of time before a bold  move is made.

That would make an excellent thread: Can The INTERNET Be MSMed? or some such. I think we live in the Golden Age of the Internet where they have not yet established control. History shows us that major technological advances (auto, radio for example) are usually consolidated into a few corporate hands. If and when they do consolidate the INTERNET, it will be hard times for constitutional rights.

That's the main reason I use as much unmainstream software and sites as possible.
