GE is CITI with a technical science department.

I agree with you steve. Well in to the summer. I believe the 60 days for comments that the SEC offered on 4/8/2009 for the uptick rule gives a time line indication of what the plan are for the market. As much as people like to think the market has a mind of its own, it really doesn't. I predict the next precipitous drop will occur in mid to late June of 2009.

I was kinda hopin' that was the day the Fed would crash and/or release a quadrillion dollars into the market. But your idea sounds better.

This is only the 4th inning of the game. Yes, the home team is expected to rattle their bats at this time, so a few runs will be knocked in, but the drubbing will continue in the 5th. Deep technical analysis, including Elliott Wave, is calling for a turn this week. If it goes down, then it will retrace roughly 2/3rds of the recent gains; if up, then it'll reach the 9000s on the Dow. Afterwards, yes, look out below. Of course, nobody will admit they believe in technical analysis, so just keep a firm grip on your gold and silver coins.

The fact that the word quadrillion can be mentioned with all seriousness, or at least a modicum of such, is incredible.

Yes, Citi Bank with a technical science department is GE. Sad but true.

I have 500 shares of GE stock from $31 bought around August.... [Sic,] "House of pain."

That would be the first one that doesn't sound like an antibiotic.

But, they're still going to try to fix it that way. Only the term Quantitative Easing sounds so much loftier and likelier to work, eh?!

                              http://zerohedge.blogspot.com/2009/0...liquidity.html

Latest datapoint. The fix is in, and its GS (Goldman Sachs) up to their old tricks again. Quant trades 6 standard deviations away from market neutrality.

The crash will be soon, very soon. Extreme volatility on low volume. Goldman Sach is trying to make up for the shortfall by creating all the volume themselves, probably in a circle jerk with their friendly neighborhood conspirators.

Key to note here is that Goldman's program trading principal to agency+customer facilitation ratio is a staggering 5x, which is multiples higher than both the second most active program trader and the average ratio of the NYSE, both at or below 1x. The implication is that Goldman Sachs, due to its preeminent position not only as one of the world's largest broker/dealers (pardon, Bank Holding Companies), but also as being on the top of the high-frequency trading/liquidity provision "food chain", trades much more often for its own (principal) benefit, likely in tandem with the other top dogs on the list: RenTec, Highbridge (JP Morgan), and GETCO. In this light, the program trading spike over the past week could be perceived as much more sinister. For conspiracy lovers, long searching for any circumstantial evidence to catch the mysterious "plunge protection team" in action, you should look no further than this.
