I watched a few of these, i noticed that we have more & more. Also we have more & more Pubs shutting, Pools, fair grounds.......i think its more then recession.

I think "We" as a people are changing, we don't go to the pub or fair or mall............We do all that via the Internet. Video hire?.....DEAD.

    I wonder whats next?

I think it was early in the morning, and the stores weren't open yet. Did you notice the escalator wasn't moving?

Why would the escalator be running if the mall is vacant?

It's The Mall of America, in Minnesota. It's not vacant. They just aren't open for business yet.

Wow, that is incredible. They don't even bother listing level 6 or 7. But their website still says this...

Chicago Place offers eight floors of exciting stores and restaurants. Whatever your shopping needs may be... home furnishings, accessories and jewelry, gifts and art, special foods, etc... you'll be sure to find what you're looking for at Chicago Place. (but not on levels 2, 5, 6 or 7)

Yes - it is crazy. This is Michigan avenue (the magnificent mile)! My wife came across this situation a few months ago while walking by and just ducking in out of the rain one day. She called me at work with shock at how empty it was and that they had shut the escalators off (and they were taped off like a crime scene).

What is really striking now just driving or walking by it is the corner where the Talbots was located (south east corner) as it looks abandoned. On the north corner is still the Saks. I can not imagine how bad it would look if Saks were to leave.

I used to live in Chicago. How is State Street that great street looking?
