as others have pointed out, statistically cramer's calls have zero statistical value. he is correct slightly less than half the time. but those who like him... his style... filter out the bad calls and only remember the correct ones. at times he's bullish on gold and it goes down, at other times he's bullish on gold and it goes up. means nothing whatsoever.

I never take any advice from anyone, and certainly don't really follow a nut like cramer, however I do think someone with his temper certainly is prone to doing the wrong thing at the wrong time because of his inclination to get caught with the prevaling mood in the market. That's why it certainly worries me a little that he is bullish on stocks again.

but it's random... means nothing. he's only 'for' the prevailing mood because his job is to draw the most viewers to watch the ads. he has no conviction on anything... except to help his pals at goldman separate the peeps from their money. helping viewers invest is not what the show is about. if trading camer either with or against him was statistically useful everyone will... and then it won't work. there is no useful information to be gained by watching cramer.

              Article in the telegraph

Scientists solve the mystery of why scratching relieves an itch

"First, they injected monkeys with a chemical that made their legs itch and watched as nerves from the tract fired signals to the brain.
When they scratched the creatures' legs, the firing rate dropped, the journal Nature Neuroscience reports."

Maybe coolaid and Cramer have the same effect
"that each simple substance has relations which express all the others"

Poll Finds New Optimism on Economy Since Inauguration

By ADAM NAGOURNEY and MEGAN THEE-BRENAN
Americans have grown more optimistic about the economy and the direction of the country in the 11 weeks since President Obama was inaugurated, suggesting that Mr. Obama is enjoying some success in his critical task of rebuilding the nation’s confidence, according to the latest New York Times/CBS News poll.

What must the question have been? Which do you prefer? The current economy or being thrown into an active volcano!

Yes, anyone who's worked with someone else's finances can see this very clearly.

I'm reorienting one of my mother's stock accounts; she had started self-directed investing after getting 'booted' by her full service broker.

After 3 years, she had over 400 stocks owned. A lot of these were due to religious watching of CNBC.

The account I've taken over to strut my stuff had 125 stocks in them.

In the 1 month since I've begun, I've showed a 2% overperformance vs. doing nothing - and I've bought exactly 1 stock (and sold 63 thus far).

But all she remembers is 2 of the 63 which went up even more after I sold/stopped out of the position... even though despite that the overall delta is +2%. And one of the positions was 10 shares so the total amount I "failed" to capture was $84 representing a +38% premium over what I'd dumped the stock for.

What she also fails to get is that having so damn many positions makes it impossible to even lightly track any of them - and basically what you're then doing is index investing and betting on very broad market directions. And since she doesn't short or buy puts...

There's a difference? Most of the nation is being grilled, steamed, and cast into the heavens not knowing where they're gonna land.

Maybe I'm just being unkind to this guy but Obama seems to me to be just a taller version of Bush that recognizes and delivers a complete sentence well. Don't see a major difference in the bank bailout policy, don't feel that my privacy is anymore secure than with Bush, the military commitment hasn't changed that much, border security continues to be farce that only secures the continued flow of illegal drugs, creditors are being protected and bailed out for their bad gambling habits at the expense of the taxpayer, the hope of corruption investigations and prosecutions of major banksters is crashing faster than the honey bee population...

I'll cut em some slack on unemployment, stimulus programs, energy reform, and international relations. But I'm guessing from what I've seen these won't significantly change much as he's speaking softly and carrying a small stick given him by his 'queen's worker bees'.

The hope that we'd get a Thor banging his hammer and creating lighting and thunder and a cleansing storm has been replaced with the political reality of lobbyists goo-gooing fawnly, gifting noisy rattles, and baby mobiles going in circles while churning out melodic tunes to the watching and adoring parents. For those of us that have been blessed with diaper changing duties it don't get really smelly til later on. Then ya need a gag mask.
