The best mode I've found to use is the hybrid mode.

near the top you get a pane that shows all the posts in a tree view - the post you're looking at now is highlighted. So if you ever want to see where in the entire thread your current reading falls, just scroll up & you get the big picture in a second.

Below that is all the articles in that part of the tree that you're looking at.


Check it out. It may help to have this post open in one window and do your navigating in another window - for example, you could right-click on "User CP" and on the right-click menu, pick "Open Link in New Window"

The setting is at

Click on
"User CP"

look down the left hand side, under
"Settings & Options"
click on "Edit Options"

on the new page scroll down to " Thread Display Options "
and under "Thread Display Mode", in the selection box pick "Hybrid"

Now if I could figure out how to navigate the forum, and its general working rules, then I'd be in fine shape. I find the Tulip interface very awkward to use.
