  • And the point is?!??

Am I supposed to feel sorry for this guy?

Is the humility of collecting food stamps and delivering pizza sufficient humiliation for this guy?

The kids still in private school? The only school they've known - how touching!

Yeah, real shame about the house..

The faux look of concern from the reporter adds just about enough cognitive dissonance to cause my head to explode.

Wow. Not a lot of sympathy here, is there. At least he wasn't wining, or blaming someone else. Shit happens. Hope they can keep the family together. As an aside, I wonder if the wife has thought about getting a job.

I don't have sympathy for him, but I mean its not that bad in my opinion. He lost material stuff, its not that serious. He humbled himself and took a job that would help him take care of his family. I respect his ability to adapt (though it took 2 yrs). I wonder if his wife will go get a job (if she isn't already working).

I personally know people like this. What you didn't hear about in that story is the long line of creditors he screwed over. The guy I knew lived the same way, way above even what his high salary justified. He gambled on a new business and lost it all. And like the man in the story, he lived in his home for almost two years without paying a dime on the mortgage. He borrowed money from friends and family, and of course took them all down with him. He continued to borrow money to support his lifestyle, even when he knew he'd never be able to pay it back. Guys like this are con artists, nothing more. He'll file bankruptcy and be back at it again in a year.

Get a job? ha! The wife would have already divorced him if she thought he had anything left .
