Re: Monday Blood bath for the Dow?

As the DOW shrinks, the percentage of any given drop becomes larger for the same points lost, naturally. The counterpoint to the positive effect of housing prices collapsing.

Ex: A $200,000 home doubles in price during the bubble to $400,000. A 100% 'appreciation'. The same house now has crashed to $200,000, a fall of 50%. That's a very useful dodge on reality :p

How much longer will the % fallen on the DOW and other exchanges be prominently posted as the number swells?

"deficits don't matter" - Dick Cheney

and I'm stickin' to it, my daddy voted Republican, and his daddy before, ...

Obama has got 2 general options:

                  a) Speed up the crash to the bottom.

                  b) Slow the crash and try for a long, long, long, long, long bear market.

What so many cabbage heads just do not realize is that THERE IS NO THIRD OPTION !

                  c) Recovery. <-- This is NOT an option. It does not exist. Denial does not make it so.

Meanwhile the supposed-to-be-collapsing USD is acting distinctly mule-ish.

Obama's first priority is not the stock market. No wonder cnbc and wsj are ranting so much. The market should be a symptom of the economy.

Ladies and gentleman the currencies are lined up in the starting gates....

                          And they're off.....

The USD has shot out to a good lead, there is a large group bunched up on the rails but they are falling behind

                          Oh No.....

JPY seems to have pulled up lame, GBP is carrying a heavy load and is struggling to stay with the bunch.

Will USD have the stamina to maintain her lead or will the rest just fail to finish??? That seems to be the big question in this race now.

The slow bleed isn't much fun for doomers. Too frog in a pot.
