If you have spoiled kids, beware, cops may do this to them:
A security video released Friday shows a King County sheriff's deputy purportedly shoving and kicking a 15-year-old girl in a holding cell after her arrest.

Purportedly? He absolutely thrashed the girl! He punched her, slammed her head against a wall, pushed her face into the floor, and jerked her around by her hair. Hope the guy ends up in jail!
Stuff like this *really* angers me. I wonder if this officer was ever in the military? It looks like she kicked her shoes off at him, but still he definitely used excessive force. It looks like he kicked her, slammed her head on the ground, and then punched her a couple of times while she was down on the ground.
This officer should have one of his eyes gouged out. Excessive force should be met with excessive force. Too crazy you say? Well, how else are you going to prevent officers from doing this in the future?
Every interest bearing loan is mathematically impossible to pay back.

Administrative leave followed by early retirement on disability due to stress on the job. The State looks after its own. Always has, always will...to the breaking point ;)

And violence begets violence... where is the love?
It's Economics vs Thermodynamics. Thermodynamics wins.

Only one of his eyes? I say take one of his eyes and a couple fingers off of each hand too.
Unfortunately in today's society I think the consensus would be that the girl must have done something to deserve this sort of treatment. I think it's some sort of weird permutation of the whole "If you're doing nothing wrong then you have nothing to worry about" line of thinking.

Sad, but true.
Indeed! In addition to that, it seems the police are held above the law these days.
Re: If you have spoiled kids, beware, cops may do this to them:
The problem is that if the state comes down on the officer than police will be afraid to use force on children. It will also send a message to teenagers that they are invulnerable to cops and they will use that to their advantage.

Hi blazespinnaker
Which is why that cop should be jailed himself. He not only used excessive force, he now exposes other police who need to use force. Every time one of "yours" does something wrong YOU are a target for retaliation.
"Judges Plead Guilty in Scheme to Jail Youths for Profit"
That's pretty frightening and undermines the entire youth justice system.
Its pretty simple. That girl posed no threat and he simply could have reacted in proportion. If he isn't bright enough to distinguish one threat from another then he shouldn't be a cop.
Re: If you have spoiled kids, beware, cops may do this to them:
It's a pretty difficult case, I think.
According to what I saw in the video it doesn't seem all that difficult. If this turns out to be anything other than an open and shut case resulting in the cop losing his job and a hefty cash reward for the victim, then out juvee justice system most certainly is broken.

maybe here we have a rebellious teenager taking her rage at dad out on policeman/authority figure john... and learning police 101?
some police are police because they want respect without earning it. show disrespect to one of those and you get what you ordered... or more.
play it safe, honey, and call the man 'sir' unless you want a fight.

Barely kicking a shoe at somehow does not constitute rage in my book, and it certainly does not warrant the assault that occurred afterwards. The man needs to be jail.

i'll bet you $100 she was mouthing off at him the whole time... they really ought to have audio with those tapes... 'you &%#%$^ pig &^$#%$ tiny pecker 7%#$^% faggot &%#$*& moron *^#&%$% shithead' you can just hear it in her body langiage . a shoe ain't nothing compared to the mouth on a pissed off teenager!
not excusing the cop's behavior, btw. but if she thinks this is bad, try that in mexico.
