    no surprising at all, but I heard today on TV that ultimately they're already planning on a permanent airbase at Kirkuk and keeping boots on the ground for at least 15-20 years passed 2011.

        The US has, what is in effect, permanent military presence in many countries around the world. The US has large numbers of "boots" on the ground in Kuwait, Bahrain, Qatar, Saudi, Somalia, Krygystan, etc. For some reason people get all worked up about our presence continuing in Iraq.

        Anyway, back to the real issue at hand, the Obama budget and its' macro implications: Any comments on the little jewel of reducing mortgage interest deductions for the "rich"?

        My view is that it's one more drag on the housing market and a return to the day when high end housing was a reward for success. A reward paid for in cash.

          God bless you c1ue, my head was hurting all the work and things I would need to lookup on how I would respond to Uno. To return the favor how about this for change;

            LargoWinch, Thanks for the tea party link. I've heard talk about it on several sites and radio but never followed them. Unfortunately I am traveling home today and won't beable to throw any tea.

            Rick Santelli and Ron Paul are great. I am sure not all the founding fathers were carbon copies in their beliefs but they were able to unite.

            To UNO I think Obama is a wolf in sheeps clothing trying to bring on a revolution. Just read about Saul Alinsky:

            When Mr Change seems to have apprenticed under a guy that dedicates his book to Lucifer, you know you're gonna get change!

              Uno,

              If wall-street is out to get Obama, why were they among his biggest donors?

              Generally, I find it hilarious every time he talks about "failed policies of the past" - you know, like drunken sailor spending while he's not proposing anything different. Dem or Republican - the club of government is going to bash slightly different groups of people but thats about it.

                a huge move in the right direction
                Only if you believe socialism is the answer.I'm no Bush fan.Both parties have abandoned the people of this country that work and really produce something of value. His budget is full of pie in the sky hopeless assumptions.3 % GDP growth next year really? We are broke as a country and yet he is still pushing forward his socialist agenda. Government IS the answer. 650 Billion "down payment" on universal health care. A new government MANDATED pension fund.IE we will take your money for 30 years and pay you a pittance back aka social security. How can we add 1 trillion dollars to 700 billion dollars a year to an already 11trillion dollar defecit and expect our country to remain solvent? It's shear madness. the only hope for this country sadly is that times get so bad that we throw all the bastards out of washington and start over.
