Most people with a pension plan in America are now assuming the position. Bend over and grab hold of the back of your knees, legs akimbo. You wouldn't think most seniors could pull off this stunt but lo and behold, they're kissing their ass goodbye by the millions. It is perhaps the biggest transfer of wealth in the last 100 years, Mega my Man.

I'm proud of the stock market for flipping the bird at the crap that passes for reform in the Obama admin...meet the new boss, same as the old boss. It's the only thing that's telling the truth.

My friend is hopping ship, moving to the USA in April, but not because he is trying to avoid the crisis. He simply doesn't like Britain!

I don't have one either, been self-employed for 30 years with all its ups and down. Still a believer in the Henry Ford approach. People have to get a big enough share of what they've created to keep the merry go round turning. Of course here they've abandoned the bloody merry ;)

It's a target rich environment, eh:

Record Price for Matisse at Auction

                By THE ASSOCIATED PRESS
                Filed at 4:19 p.m. ET

PARIS (AP) -- Christie's auction house says a Henri Matisse oil painting has sold at auction for euro32.1 million ($41.1 million), a record price for a work by the celebrated French artist.

The sale came at a three-day Paris auction of art from the estate of late French fashion icon Yves Saint Laurent that some have called ''the sale of the century.''

The buyer was not immediately identified.

February 23, 2009, 3:08 Met Museum to Close Shops, Freeze Hiring

In response to the global economic crisis, James R. Houghton, chairman of the board of the Metropolitan Museum of Art, posted a letter on the institution’s Web site on Friday announcing that the Met had decided to close 15 of its satellite shops around the country and freeze hiring for now. Layoffs would be next.

Yes, i noticed that the "WHORE" index is falling fast. The "Honeys" were able to DEMAND £1200 for a sleep over. None of them were what you would think of as super models...

Now the price has crashed, £400 ish (They haggle) & they choice has improved big time..................Not that i am in to that sort of thing .

Besides tax? How about prep for the "Summer of Rage."

Britain faces summer of rage - police

Middle-class anger at economic crisis could erupt into violence on streets

Yes, methinks it will be the Summer of Rage in many places this year, and, quite possibly as you point out, the Spring of Rage.

Eastern Europe as well, for many reasons.

Most analysts seem to be expecting S&P 500 earnings for 2009 to be around $70 to $80. They are still assuming a rebound mid-year, which isn't going to materialize.

Actual S&P 500 earnings this year are likely to be around $50, or even less if the global implosion gets worse. Historically, a "fair value" P/E has typically been 7:1. Assuming an over-correction to 6:1, that would be 300 for the S&P index. If earnings collapse further, it could be 250 or less. That's about 33% of today's close.

Applying the same percentage decline to the Dow would bring it to about 2400.

In what will it explode, and where do you think it will explode?

Most iTulipers are already on safe ground enjoying the crash of worldwide stock markets; it makes for nice fireworks.

I hope it goes to Zero and that the system reset with sound money/system.
