The massive operation to monitor the protesters cost £5.9m and resulted in 100 arrests. But in December the government was forced to apologise to parliament after the Guardian revealed that its claims that 70 officers had been hurt in violent clashes were wrong.

Of course, only the Guardian could publish an article about riots in the UK arising from the economic crisis while putting up a corresponding photograph of "youths" (European doublespeak for young Muslim men) attacking police at an Israel/Palestine rally as if one justified the other.
This sort of deception is one of the reasons why I despise the British and European Left. Here's another: Link

The national debt bombshell from the ONS showed tax receipts down and public spending higher.
Bombshell? What, you mean you weren't expecting it?
And you do realise that the bank "assets" are all the dodgy loans and derivatives that won't get repaid?
