I thought Gold was a US $ Hedge

I thought Gold was a U.S. dollar hedge, but it's a better hedge against other currencies (this year). . .

Technical breakout today as the 50 day moving average crossed above the 200 day. Don't get me wrong, I'm in for the long term, but the technicals suggest short term support above $900, too.
