  • Boffins: Blue light kills MRSA 'superbugs'

As someone that has seen first hand the effect of an MRSA infection on a friend, I post this as a possible solution if any ituliper gets into the same situation. This sounds like something that anyone of a practical nature can do without any real cost or difficulty.

    Conclusion
We conclude that 470-nm light kills HA-MRSA and CAMRSA in vitro, suggesting that a similar effect may be achieved in vivo in human cases of MRSA infection, particularly in cutaneous and subcutaneous cases of MRSA infections that are susceptible to non-invasive types of irradiation.

I hope so. I see about 20 cases of MRSA a week at my clinic. It usually ends up with me cutting you open and draining the wound. It's becoming an epidemic. I advise any of you if you have a wound that doesn't appear to be getting better to have it looked at sooner than later, keep it covered, wash your hands frequently, and keep your sheets and clothes separate from your spouses and kids.

The Cleveland Browns will be very happy to hear of this breakthrough.

There was a pretty scary article in the New Yorker about these superbugs not too long ago. Made me want to shake all those people who take antibiotics for a cold.

Check out the antibiotics in our water supply. Mainly from livestock runoff. A few years ago a HS kid did a antibiotics examine of his tap water for his science class. Made the news, his findings haven't been written about since. ;) If our water supply is laced with industrial antibiotics, that would seem to be a much bigger player in our failing response to antibiotics. People over use antibiotics but one wonders if that's a smokescreen for a much bigger culprit.

Now that is a scary thought. Actually, our drinking water in general is a pretty scary thought.

The Browns, many college teams, anytime you read about an athlete missing time because of a cut.....and forget MMA, wrestlers, and gym rats! The equipment and mats are full of it.

As far as antibiotics go, I treat myself and my family exactly the opposite of what most patients want. Through the miracle of advertising, most people think there is a magic pill. I return about 5 calls a day from patients who want to know why they aren't better the day after I saw them.

You only need to smell the water in DC to get the picture. Here in East Hampshire the water is artesian and fills the bath with a wonderful blue sheen.

But on another level, manufacturers of 470-nm diodes are going to do brisk business.

Get a water filter. They will remove most of that kind of crap, PCBs, hormones, heavy metals etc.

You probably want to keep your spouses separate too, there is usually an explosive reaction when in close proximity.
