I agree that EJ has called it, but i take issune with your anti-Schiff links. These seem to focused on the fact that Peter is a Jew. To me i don't care what he belives in.

I lost money with peter as in what i bought, but not much. I bought into Euro-pac when the £ was 2.11...........its £1.36 ish now. I followed his advice, got into Gold/Silver & using his line of Thought i bought into the Euro 68p............its almost £1.

The Money i gave Schiff came from a job lot of BT Stock i sold for £3.20.....I think BT is now £1.07 & as i say the £ was $2.11 now its $1.37 ish..............Do the Maths.

I gained a lot because of Peter, sure i can see why Americans are dissapointed............but they need to keep the faith.

I lost money without investing in Schiff. Everyone who bought gold equities and any commodity based stock has lost money...as well as anyone who bought stocks, period.

I like Schiff because he says stuff people don't normally say. And he has been largely right. I also liked his dad.

Miker - gold is about to crap out (means drop hard), not embark on a big run. You are getting bullish on it right at the top of it's channel. Time for gold to go down (quite a bit) is actually right about now. Best to practice those bullish feelings when everyone else is quaking with fear about owning gold. Right now everyone is feeling a little glow because it's had a nice corrective run up. Absolutely the wrong time to start getting bullish on it.

Short term, gold could go anywhere. Long term . . . I buy the Itulip analysis. They have nailed this thing almost every step of the way. luke's off on his sentiment reading. no one is relaxed with gold at $900 while 99% of the financial press bleats about deflation. gold has been climbing a wall of worry for over a year now.

I'm not counter gold or bearish on gold. Gold is probably the finest thing to own here for the next ten years. I'm just saying that it's nudging the $900-$925 and it's not going higher from here, it's gonna go lower. In case anyone forgot, we are right smack in the middle of one of the worst commodity collapses in history, during that nice bucolic *intermission*. So anyone here who has been feeling markedly seasick due to overly large holdings of gold, silver, platinum or palladium, these are not bad prices to be looking at raising any cash you may have sworn to yourself you would do during the worst of the recent declines. I suggest that price window is right in here somewhere, maybe the best you'll be afforded before we wander down into the next big market barf and gold and silver can be quite notably volatile if we get a second really nasty leg down. Might be able to pick some silver up down there for $8.00 for instance (almost 35% below today's price). Whether anyone is interested or bored by this minor insight, it's entirely their own affair. We might remember also that december and january are the strongest seasonal months for gold and silver. 2009 promises to be an extremely rough year for all assets including the precious metals. We are getting real close to the entire seasonal high for gold and silver, which means if you skate by this opportunity to raise cash, you need to feel real comfortable about all your PM holdings throughout the rest of 2009, and that means you might see them jink around quite hard (30%+?) through the rest of this year.
