  • OH BOY THIS IS BAD (link works) Debt Service Ratio

Setting a new record in 26 years of record keeping.

    http://www.federalreserve.gov/releas...bt/default.htm

18.06 (bottom row, 5th from left, 3rd from right)(homeowner total DSR))

    06q2 14.40 19.23 25.18 18.06 11.60 6.47

Anyone have a spreadsheet handy? averages & sigmas? (or is this a tchebyshev?)

(public site, so I hope my last "link's gone" doesn't repeat)

I always wonder about the DSR for renters.

My assumption has always been that the average renter's income is much lower than the homeowner. Do the vast majority of US residents buy a house the minute they can?

What's the DSR for those renters who could afford a house, but choose renting?

iTulip uses economagic.com a lot. There's a subscription fee to download data and a few other goodies, but there's a lot available for free, too.
