This government will make things a thousand times worse. They will dig a hole so large that this country will be toast for a few decades with no hope of a revival.
The mistakes made by the Labour governments back in the 1960s and 1970s were trivial by comparison. There is an arrogance bred into the elites in Britain (arising out of a nearly three decade long FIRE economy boom) which dictates that Britain is incapable of becoming insolvent and that the economy can survive through these problems.
The amount of self congratulating nonsense that Britain's FIRE economy press pumped 24/7 during the boom was mind numbing. That era bred rank stupidity and complacency into the brains of the decision makers of this country. What is sad is that very little good sense seems to be visible among the mainstream economic commentators.
I have ALL of my assets outside Britain - except what I need for paying monthly bills. I will never bring them back here and I shall emigrate out of this country sometime this year. It makes me sad because I admire a great deal about the country's history and its past - but the current crop of politicians, bureaucrats and bankers have really brought this country to a sorry pass. -

Actually, part of the problem is that most of the ruling politicians have never experienced anything other than politics. They get their degrees and then spend their early careers in think tanks where they devote half their time to formulating policy and the other half to wooing political insiders. If they are successfully they take up a junior post and work their way up the greasy pole. The only experience they have with business is through lobbyists and academics, or when accidentally thrust into a post they are totally unsuitable for (Gordon Brown as Chancellor of the Exchequer).Comment

A good deal of my assets are out of the UK, it also upsets me to see my people royaly arse raped by a load carpet baggers. I know i sound like i am gleeful that this is happening.........am not.
However i want to help dig my people out of this, if the £ collaspes but raw materal costs stay depressed than there is a chance i could fight the cheap imports that have been flooding in.
I see (A lot less now) assholes in lease hire BMW/Merc/Range Rovers & i am gleeful that in 1-2 years they be driving a 10 year old GM.
