Re: UK to abolish 165 year old law that prevented government printing of money in secret
Somehow, the world, especially America, has forgotten to save in the good times for the down-turns that inevitably come. The world has collectively forgotten one of the essential points that even Keynes makes: saving for a rainy day so that deficits can be run when necessary.
When you elect Republicans every four years with the doctrine that no-one need pay any taxes, this is what happens. So here we are now, broke, in the tank, and with no easy way out.
Certainly, solar energy is not the easy way out of this mess; it's the hardest way, but this story about the futility and cost of solar energy is yet to unfold to the American people. ( It will. )
