UE rumours about gold re-monetarization

Funny dinner of 300 I had yesterday with officials and legislators of the UE.

I was suddenly speaking about gold and iTulip at my table to one of them, and she (a prominent head of a parliamentary commission in the European Parliament, Strasburg, France) replied to me :

"You know we seriously talk about gold being put back in a basket of currencies, or backing the Euro in some way." :eek:

I said : "Oh, my, my, you don't say ?" :rolleyes:

Well, Rick, just rumours, you know. ;)
At the same table, there was some miserable technocrat.
I said : "Well, sir, 18 months ago, I told many people here that the subprime was not just a mad american cow disease, and they laughed at me.
Now we have real estate in France down 11 % in 9 months, volumes down from 25 % to a whopping 70 % in some branches of the market, so what do you think ?"
"You know, we can sense some tiny positive signs on the economic side too."
I said : Which ones ?
He said, with a smile : Please, do tell me we'll have some good news in the future.
I said : Yes, sir, you'll do. In 5 years from now.
He gasped.
