friday was the new issue of OECDs' CLI released.

Please pay special attention to chinas switch from "downturn" to "strong slowdown".

Why are the histograms for china different ? Is the method for CLI changed ? :confused:

My take is that the Nov. chart is non-smoothed data and the Dec. chart is smoothed. The dive in Nov. shows the severe downturn that month. Maybe they decided to show it in a smoothed graph because unsmoothed form it might be interpreted as volatility versus trend.

Click on the IMG icon in the edit menu bar and enter the URL of the image. If the image is not already at a URL, then post the image first as an attachment as you did then get the URL of the attachment by left-linking on it with our mouse, then use that URL as the URL with the IMG icon function in the edit menu bar.

Unfortunately it now seems that "globalization" was yet another bubble that is due for collapse. The consumption bubble in the US was mirrored by a business investment bubble in China/Asia.

Will we now witness an unwind of the US current account deficit? Up to date stats are hard to find...
