We are in a death spiral!

When I look back on this time I feel vindicated that I saw the recession back in 2004-2005. By 2006 I KNEW it was a coming, by 2007 I KNEW it would be a depression.

EJ/Schiff & others filled in the blanks, but what I think we all failed to see was JUST how dependent the West had become on short to medium term credit.

Every day I am shocked by JUST how much worse the crash is, jobs gone, firms going bust. Not all of them “Bubble businesses” …..Lots of what where good sound stable firms………killed by the death of short term credit. Cash flow has become critical & the road ahead is one of great difficulty ……It’s going to be harsh Folks!

I take great pleasure in hearing Armondo Montelongo (one of the guys from "Flip This House" on A&E) pitching "get rich quick in real estate" DVD's on the radio. I relish the thought that he's reduced to hawking his line of garbage on the radio in order to keep from having to eat from a dumpster.

Other than that, while I'm pretty much in agreement with you that we are in a death spiral I'm not too smiley about the whole situation because I think that the end result will be a nearly unbearable time of upheaval for almost everyone.

I think the economy is rebooting. People want to go a different direction. They want the current group of people making the decisions from top to bottom to be replaced. These people are the only ones trying to artifically prevent the market from going where it naturally wants to go. Suburbia is dieing, gas guzzling red-neck mobiles are being parked, beef is skyrocketing, and fossile fuel consumption is being reduced. Through in a gigantic bonfire of the vanities that streches from coast to coast the picture is complete. For all you Jon Brunner fans .... The Sheep Look Up.

Well said, and I profoundly agree.

The so called masters of the universe are being called out. It's time to transition away from leveraged finance and over consumption and migrate to biotech, alternative energy, and education.

Im actually related (by marriage) to one of the inspectors who worked on this home. He was telling me that it was so blatantly obvious during the shoot that everything was a sham. During his inspection, he walked up and within 2 seconds of looking at the site already had enough information to fail the inspection. He was actually relieved because he didnt want to be on television and since the show had a huge legal issue, then it only aired once and hasnt been back on!
