As I've previously said it was inevitably this would happen and we will have a fracture between the investment gold spot and the consumer/eBay gold spot:

Now we have all the ingredients for a perfect storm.... I'm talking about a consumer grade gold bubble.

Re: Free Market PM Spot Price

for all of the 10s of millions of t bill dollar orders I take, sometimes daily, I get a few yuckles looking to take delivery of a 32 oz gold future or 1000 oz silver contract. These delivery requests usually come from accounts of a few hundred bucks.

Where is the bubble? Is it t bills? YES Is it metals? NO

          Just my 2 cents.

Imagine if this equation ever flips! The multi million dollar orders are for bullion and the yuckles want t bills.

live.com is inflating some ebay pm prices via buy-it-now auctions.

pwcmba, this price fracture signals the beginning of the consumer grade gold bubble exactly how the Swaps Loophole signaled the beginning of the oil commodities) bubble.

The Joe 6 Goldounces bubble will have nothing to do (or very little to do) with the futures market in the initial stages.

I think you are exactly correct, both on the fabrication and the demand source. Tulving and Apmex have the kilo gold bars and 1,000 oz silver bars fairly close to spot price; they seem to have moved a fair amount of these over the last couple months. Tulving has delivered over 600 of the 1,000 oz silver bars.

                    Great site indeed Yaowarat. Thanks.

Until now, I had no idea the spread vs spot was that much. I was suspecting something like 5% to 10%.

Good thing that opted for pure coins (Buffalo and Leafs) instead of bars. I stayed away from the rare coins stuff however as I don't know enough about those.

Have they killed the site with the eBay spot prices or has it been moved to another address?
