He predicted the downfall of subprime mortgage lenders and the risks to U.S. mortgage giants Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac, to banks and, ultimately, to the world economy.

"I started talking about subprime mortgages being a problem when 99 percent of the world had never even heard the word subprime," Roubini said in a recent interview with ABCNews.com.

Don't expect economists who doubted Roubini to concede that they were wrong, Loungani added.

same with soros. he also called this recession 4 - 5 times over the past few years. itulip called it once. was early too, if you count the stat that the recession went away for 2 quarters after the Q4 07. or not if you figure q1 & q2 2008 'growth' was a factor of oil price inflation.
