on feb 1, 2001 the dollar was at 120.45, now it's 86.50; while the dow has gone from 9910 to 12165. that's a little over 5 years. 86.5/120.45 says the dollar has lost 28.2%, the dow has risen 22.75% -- not quite enough to make up for the dollar's devaluation.
the s&p 1373 to 1378 - didn't make much there, so the dollar's fall really hurts.
