One presumes the problem is at the server, and not specific to you. Therefore, you can have this problem if others are 24-hour iTulip geeks.

Re: itulip CPU blow outs, why ?

Due to a combination of factors, including high user activity and technical problems that our hosting company is experiencing, we've had an unusual number of outages recently.

If these problems are not resolved with our current hosting company shortly we intend to move to a new one.

Thanks for your understanding. We know it's a pain in the ass to have a post or PM you're trying to post blow up when you hit the "Submit" button.

We've got our best people on it.

I'm sure all the recent media appearances by EJ are driving site views skyward.

Even knowing the back story, hearing this still makes me wonder what you have your worst people doing. Whatever it is, they must be mucking it up pretty bad if your best people are having this much trouble with the server.

I've said this before but worth repeating, if you are trying to submit a post and get get a server timeout or one of the error messages from the hosting service, all the stuff you typed is still sitting in your computer's memory. Go get a cup of coffee or something and try reloading the page, or, sometimes you can hit the back button on your browser and get back to the edit-post page.

Happened to me today, I hit preview post button and got "this account has been suspended" error page from bluesocket. I just left the browser window open, went to lunch, and came back. I hit the back button, got back to edit mode and tried again and it worked.

Not saying it will work every time but it's worth trying before smashing your monitor because you think your 5000-word epic post has been obliterated.
