Is not C one of the chosen ones (nine)? Too big to fail? Maybe GS buys them? Any thoughts?

I would agree with you Chris, I see a likely merger between GS and Citi. Goldman needs the deposits now that Paulson turned them into a commercial bank overnight, and Paulson has some large amount of GS stock in neighborhood of $50 million (I heard), plus you have a GS man heading up his bailout plan, so GS defintely has some powerful private interests making sure they do not fail. Any bad paper citi has will be socialized through TARP, and Goldman Sachs will bring in their high net worth clients. Don't know when the time is to invest, but I am starting to dollar cost into a long GS position because of their relations in Washington and Wall Street.

In this market, I'd go long the bonds of these co's: that's where the money is made.

Common is for the pension funds... pff.

Wonder if their Wells lawsuit will outlive the plaintiff?

you'd go long or you've gone long? There's a huge difference.
