This is the only thing giving me pause from liquidating my Roth IRA and declaring a capital loss. Does this mean it's time to buy?

      It's no brainer buy!!!
Too bad I have no dry powder left and exhausted my ammo in the last week. The value in energy and mining stocks is unbelievable today!

Isn't Cramer is a contrary indicator? That would make this a time to buy?

He is wrong so much of the time...

On the other hand, P/E s would start to look good at a DOW around 8,000.

Will we see 8,000 or will inflation make the bottom a bit higher?

What does the concept of "inflation" mean anymore. I mean really? The Fed dumped a Trillion bucks the past few days and contraction continues.

Want a bench mark. How about going back to before the dot.com bubble started. That was 6500.

              Money supply never increased.

              Get this right.

                Re: Cramer says SELL!

I don't think I've ever seen him that calm. I guess the bull has been tamed. And no it is not time to buy... do you hear any of the respectable analysts in consensus saying they see the light at the end of the tunnel coming? No? Then there will be lower lows, and it's not time to buy (unless you're a day trader with balls of brass). Simple as that.

                  Re: Cramer says SELL!

Kind of my point. Nothing is going up besides anxiety, levels of panic, and gold. Magnitudes of action have no meaning at any level. "Inflation" or "Deflation" may not have meaning here.

                    Re: Cramer says SELL!

Cramer predicted correctly the top of Gold at aroung $1000/oz and the housing real estate. So it is not wise to brush him off. He is usually late in turning but his vectors have been mostly right.

                      Re: Cramer says SELL!

EJ said that DOW and GOLD will be 1:1 or so:

                      http://itulip.com/forums/showthread.php?t=5265

                      timeframe : 2012-2015

Estimate is that gold and DOW will meet at about 2500 or 3000.

Then how long it will take for DOW to go back to 10000 just to recoup? A decade, or two? Just look at Japan.

So barring lucky (or well educated) stock picks, chances are if you buy stock market today without knowing exactly what you're doing, you may see your money back in about 20-30 years.

Now that's a long term investing....

                        Re: Cramer says SELL!

No one is talking about buying Dow long term.
I was talking about incredible values as panic selling ensued today. MOS's PE is under 3 now, dropped 50% in just couple of days.
But even Dow or financial should rebound nicely short term.

man, this is too funny. The near VIX hit's 79, the far VIX hit's 53, SP touches 1007, and Crammer says SELL!..... and you are saying that's not a buy signal? too funny!!
Buy that gold baby.... I'll pick it up from you at <$600/oz mid-2009 ;)

                            Re: Cramer says SELL!

the DOW will be much higher in awhile...cuz the fiat will be much lower. Dow of 10,000 is like a 2000 Dow of...what? 6000? So the long slow crash has been happening...

I repeat: not $1 of the bailout has been spent yet.

And, as the SAS says, "Those who dare, win."
