  • What happened to the capital controls article?

There was a new article last night about capital controls on the main page that was dated September 22 even though it was still September 21 in America. It would not come up when I clicked on "more" and I figured it must have been some technical issue preventing it from functioning properly. Today it's been removed from the main page completely. Did anyone else see this article yesterday and know what happened to it?

NO, it's just gone, don't know what happened.

Hmm, that's strange...I really hope they put it back up, the intro seemed very interesting. Were you able to read the whole thing?

Here is the response I received from the iTulip.com Forum Team.

"The reason you are unable to access this post is beacause the article is still being worked on, not yet opened to the public.

The thread you mentioned is currently posted in our "Staging" forum as a draft and it's for our internal use only at this time.

We are expecting to finish the article shortly and scheduled to publish it sometime today or tomorrow. Please keep your eyes open for it and do check back later".

"Fred" said it was posted prematurely on the admin version of the site (kind of a preview mode) and it somehow bled through to the main site. Will be posted when editing complete.

Either that or "they" got to EJ. Let the speculation begin.

I think it's the new capital controls article FRED referenced coming out today. Must have mistakenly posted the first part briefly on the main page.

The only time I go to the main page is when by mistake I hit a wrong icon on my desktop. I figure all new posts there (excepting the erroneous one being discussed here) end up in the fora. Am I wrong? Am I missing world class information by not routinely reading the Front Page?

No, you are correct Jim. I haven't visited the main page since i discovered the "New Posts" button a year ago. But then i'm glued to this site almost day and night.

Yeah, I received the same reply via email. I was worried "they" had gotten to EJ too!

It's in editing. It's long. It's disturbing, no so much the likelihood of controls which it argues is higher than most people probably think (who think about it at all), but also because once you get into the details there is not a lot you can do about it after the fact. You have to get out in front of it and that's expensive if it never happens. On the other hand, it's really expensive if controls are put in place and you're not ready.

Also, the not capital controls SHTF case is super ugly: Sudden Stop. In a matter of months output crashes, unemployment and inflation spikes. Fun!

                            Stay tuned.
