(Reuters) - Morgan Stanley and Wachovia Corp were the subject of a report in the New York Times.
Morgan Stanley is considering a merger with Wachovia, according to people briefed on the discussions.
Morgan Stanley CEO John Mack received phone call Wednesday from Wachovia expressing interest.
Other banks have also expressed interest in Morgan Stanley. Wachovia talks are preliminary, no deal may emerge.

Paulson has been flirting with disaster throughout the first three innings but so far he's relatively unscathed until now, but here in the 4th, he's been rocked from stem to stern.

This is a hole I doubt the Nationals can drag themselves out of.

Bernanke has had his bullpen been up all game, so much so they may have pitched themselves out, to no advantage.

The National's manager, for what its worth, looks his usual unperturbed self, riding his stationary bicycle in the dugout.

And now...wait...what...the fat lady has disappeared down the tunnel!
