Re: Thesis change time? Gold approaching $760

Good point: I am earning a lot more gold per week than at the beginning of the summer, although I have not received a raise from my employer...

We seriously got 90-some posts in 36 hours? That must be a record.

If I am understanding, FRED, today has been the busiest? I know everytime I have checked new posts, I say, shit! what a list!!

Is it suddenly that there is a lot of interest in the world of geopolitics and the US elections or are people getting their asses whacked?

It would be interesting if there were some area in iTulip that showed the daily statistics of how many visitors in 24 hours, how many posts.

My impression is that all this interest is possibly due to anxiety, and the question I have is this significant, or are things going to become worse?

That'll teach iTulip to publish a short term, "peg in the sand" floor price forecast for gold...

Sorry to intervene in a PM discussion. Not that I'm a supporter of the ratchet theory, but the latest rumor is that Lehman is preparing to unload tons of gold and silver futures in a desperate scramble for cash. I don't know if the net positions are long or short or if they are dumped sequentially in order to increase revenue.

Chill y'all... What is gold for? An oz is still an oz, an oz that the bank can't default on.
I'd rather lose 20% than everything.

Hard to imagine Lehman still has anything that liquid still on its books...

Here's what members tell us about why they come here and are more active recently.

Who was closer to forecasting events, the MSM or iTulip?
                      • Credit Crunch
                      • 2008 Debt Deflation Bear Market
                      • Bank failures
                      • Dramatic Fed and Treasury bailouts (no deflation)
                      • Small trade within big trade commodities correction (even if the 780 gold threshold didn't hold up)

Do an alexa correlation of iTulip traffic with the stock market and you'll see that over as many years as alexa has existed iTulip is a destination when the SHTF. People come here to find out what's going on and what we think we happen next. But the traffic and posting activity do not indicate future direction.

I agree. I would think they would've gotten rid of that stuff long ago.

Is there an easier way to track recent new posts in a particular thread or when some one replies to your post as opposed to scanning through a particular thread every time ?

Look at the thread index at the top of the page. Posts you have seen should appear with blue symbols; new posts should appear as orange symbols.

As far as I remember, property in Mexico is considered a hard asset by the majorities. Specially when talking about agricultural land or an urban plot with full infrastructure. On central Mexico we use to have armored concrete, brick and mortar homes, maybe more expensive to built, but sturdier in storms and earthquakes.

As for what I remember property values followed CPI inflation during the currency devaluation. Relating to the last 5 years, I've seen price increases in high end specific niches, but low to mid level units have followed CPI inflation mostly.

                                Fred /EJ,

5 weeks later, gold is once again in the $780 range. Global central banks have in fact been cooperating, with coordinated rate cuts and financial bailouts. Are you still standing by the Dollar Ratchet theory? Does iTulip have a position on a short-mid term bottom for gold or is it anyone's guess at this point? Thanks.
