When people 50 years from now look back the year 2020 will be seen as something of a watershed.
In many many ways, but lets focus on those "Lovely" leftist mayor Bill De Blasio & Sadiq Khan of New York & London.
They thought they had it made, a "trapped" middle & upper middleclass that could be TAXED to Hell & back & if they tried to complain well an internet mob would be set on them to tell them that they "Racist" (because they got the same skin tone as some bloke they no relation to used to deal in slaves 250 years ago).
Indeed both loved to attack the little people driving their cars, Sadiq even got the nickname "Sadistic Khan" because of this love of reducing roads down to 1 lane & 20 mph zones policed by speed cams everywhere.
After all what could the silly little people do?
They needed to get into work, large Banks, Large muti-nationals, llyods of London..........i mean they had no where to go. Same in New York, Dems would walk over to Wall st firms "Say, that's a nice bank you got there"....& start the shake down process.
Nothing was going to stop that process, until one day it did!
Like the invaders from War of Worlds it was a virus that stopped them dead, that & the internet revoultion. Suddenly almost over night every large organisation goverment or private sector had to shut down large office blocks. With a "War time sprint" they started to hand out lap top computers so those workers could work from home. A large experiment, something never tried before on such a large scale.
It worked, in fact it worked VERY well indeed!
Sick leave fell to almost zero, productivity rocketted & there is more........suddenly employers saw that "Why the Hell are we renting office space?".
They suss that they going to save a fortune rent, heat, light & power PLUS those local TAXES !!!
Suddenly people did have a choice, they COULD vote with their feet!
De Blasio & Khan could only look on in horror!
Khan would give Tv interveiws looking like a Rabbit caught in the headlamps of a car.
It must have been like owning a large Plantation in the Deep south only one morning to find that the slaves had walked off the job & General Grant/the Union army the only people to complain to!
So, What future the large leftist run cities?
