Apropos Faber's short, I'm now long US Steel (X), and will remain so through earnings.

Tuesday morning will be the reckoning.

Nice call, phirang. X reported record earnings and the stock made a vertical leap. ;)

Nonetheless, Faber's call could be a better pay off, depending on the time frame. A trader's time sense is different than some of us who are thinking in terms of months or even years.

I'm only telling you about my good trades;). My junior mining stocks have been either static or uuuuggggghhhhh.

I suggest those who aren't bullish on steel to look at iron ore, coking coal, and steel plant capacity expansion, acquistion, investment, and supply chain. finally, if you're still thinking the world will end when the US top stops spinning, go fly Emirates to Dubai and spend a week there, and then let me know how it went.
