  • Fed non-borrowed reserves updated (h3)

Just a quick update on US banks non-borrowed reserves from the Federal Reserve H3 release on April 24th, 2008.

Non-borrowed reserves are now at -90 billion dollars. There is an old ITulip thread over here. The St. Louis Fed graphs have not been updated, it seems. The BORROW indicator (Total Borrowings of Depository Institutions from the Federal Reserve) hasn't been updated either.

I can't seem to find much recent attention around this issue in the mainstream media - found this from GoldSeek. But according old(ish) opinion in the WSJ, it is a "false alarm." and Bloomberg chimes in, too. Yeah, right.

Not sure this qualifies as news since it is not in a "newspaper". But it would be of interest to ITulipers, at least.

Went looking for sites that reference this latest release. The WSJ Markets Data Center mentions that release. Just love those red letters. The 52-week % change in nonborrowed reserves is -317%, and the 13-week average is -172,000% . Free reserves is down -700% from one year ago Can't seem to find any other mentions of the recent update on the net.
