In Santa Rosa today I passed by many gas stations (3.85-3.88), but there was one selling for 3.75. All four pumps were being used and five more cars waited in line - as many as the waiting area would hold.

Just filled up at a silicon valley costco, for $3.89 per gallon. Many Chevron, Shell, etc... are selling well over $4 per gallon.

My grandparents had a chicken farm in Santa Rosa, one of the first things I can remember from this life.

The price hit 3.93 at the two mega-stations (Chevron, Shell) in Willits today. The average will be 4.00 in Willits and Ukiah (Central Mendocino) within fourteen days. It seems like we've been hit with nickel increases every week for ten-twelve straight.

The owner of the one coin shop in the county is on vacation!

There is one good deal left at the Safeway - the two/one fresh-squeezed orange juice. I can still remember the good 'ol days of one dollar/pound of pasta. Some of the companies have switched down to twelve oz. from sixteen oz. in the smallest packages and the prices have doubled or more.

The price of the pre-cooked, individually frozen Bertoli dinners that are nice in a pinch went from $5.99 to 6.99 to 8.99 in a matter of weeks. Eggs jumped fifty cents in one week. Produce prices have stayed consistent, even the imported stuff.

Rick, Santa Rosa is all about endless driving, strip malls and new developments now. I got lost this last time and ended up in a huge section that was comprised only of blocks upon blocks of empty retail space and townhouses. Wish I had my camera for that one.
