This starting to sound like a dump cash/bonds get into stocks play, no?

I mean that's the whole point behind putting a Floor under the market, correct? Print so MUCH DAMN money that it makes no sense to not spend it, invest it, everything but hoard it?

This is looking more and more like runaway inflation.

What am I missing here? (I'm sure it's something)

I really couldn't give a crap, but can't invest my 401K the way I actually want to, but will get killed in taxes if I do not. (talk about catch-22, save your money from the taxman only to loose it all to the inflation tax).

How far off are we from the zimbabwification of the stock market, that's my pertinent question.

How low does the dollar have to go before people will go to an all inflationary bias and buy everything and anything that is a perceived or real inflation hedge?

Answers anyone, I smart, but not smart enough.

As to not making money, I right there with ya bro. But I am having a nice Shiner DUNKELWEIZEN right now.

Re: The Bank of England starts "buying" debt !!!

              From the History I know.

From the 1960's, due to increasing demand of imported oil Mexico, then a net importer, increased its current account deficit. Adding to it the expenses due to 1968 Olympics and 1970 world cup, there was a situation that had to be corrected and soon at the beginning of Luis Echeverrķa Administration.

First impulse to the economy taken by Luis Echeverrķa was increasing the expense. The Bank of Mexico, then depending directly from the executive branch of Mexican Government worked is a the "bill printing machine" for all the expenses.

As the Mexican Government increased expenses, incurred on increases of external debt. It is documented that the increase on external debt during the 1970 - 1976 government was fourfold. Yep, in 6 years, Mexican external debt multiplied by four.

Situation was such that inflation increases beyond the previous tying to US conditions, which caused n overvaluation of Mexican Peso.

As shown in the following graph, situation by 1976 was not sustainable, and since there was a peg of the Mexican Peso to the US Dollar, correction was unavoidable.

1976 Crisis left Mexico with a devaluation of Mexican peso from the 12.50 peg to a 22.00 peg, all the extra expenses taken by Mexican Government were diluted into the devaluation. Problem was that Mexican external debt was denominated on US Dollars, that didn't depreciated as fast as Mexican Peso during those years, and the country was left with an overburden that was chapter first of the 3 crisis bound periods, also shown above.

Other issue of the Mexican Crisis periods was that assets that were priced in Mexican Pesos suffered from a lag on increasing price time, that caused a wage inflation - price inflation catch game, which itself was the seed for more inflation.

A reference in how it played out, with the cold of statistical numbers, sits in Spanish in a historical table HERE

              * Edition *

Found a longer table for Mexican INPC (CPI) by the Tax Administration Service that is part of the SHCP. HERE
