Not to be concerned,, as the Funster is no threat to Wall Street that's for
darn sure......"he toes the party line" but ,,,the FED Reserve is at risk due
to the masked banditos efforts to "unmask" the real M3 and all such matters
of fiscal subtrefuge........EL BARTOS strikes again ! El Chartos ??

You have conflated a few folks here ... it is bart that poses no threat to Wall Street, Brunt that is from "Kaliphoney" and Finster that ... no longer exists ... :confused: :eek:

Gold and silver caught quite the downdraft today (9/7/2006) they got banged far worse than the stockmarket proportionately.

Deflation in the air.

The metals seem to be biased downward to me - here's a chart showing part of the picture on gold and how much pressure is on the downside at COMEX (the main futures exchange).

Hi, Hobbit- I sure do agree with you about debt FREE and $$$ Au AU AU in hand!
Add to that a paid off dwelling, and minimal monthly fixed expenses, and a couple years food and supplies, and one can then just fritter and enjoy one's income as one see's fit.

I forget where I found it today---did anyone see the article concerning Brasil trying to lower the value of their real by buying US dollars?

The killer drought is cooling off China's economy in a big way, combined with the terrible distruction the two typhoon hits did to them. Parts of China have become displaced over lack of water. They are relocating drought stricken farmers to other parts of the country to help harvest other farmer's crops.
From the many articles on China's 2006 harvest, I think most of the country is trying to cope with their crop crisis and drought, and big expansion plans have been put on the back burner for now.
Trouble is that they really do need to rework so much of their infrastructure-witness the several chemical spills into rivers that flow to Russia, and the endless coal mine disasters that they've had this past year.

I can't get a decent read on China no matter what I do... but my best guess is that its still expanding at a decent clip.

The majority of Fed indicators are still level or down. The only one showing even a slight uptick and trend break to the upside is the full picture (and the GSDS component is the cause):
