Evidence, yes, but anecdotal evidence. It's a very energy dependent product.
Rates we're able to charge in my particular business are flat or down even though our costs are up. But I wouldn't claim inflation is down just because of this one example. Nor could you make the assumption that inflation is low based on rates charged by home builders or remodlers lately. Nor would you be able to say inflation is lower based on prices of flat screen TV's.
There is plenty of more useful broad statistical evidence out there of monetary inflation's effect on prices. The very fact that the money supply is rising so fast is proof enough for me, but examples such as this are like trying to take in a view of the Grand Canyon with a set of high powered binoculars.
