  • Who is the top dog bank in derivatives?

Can't vouch for the accuracy in the referenced article but see the numbers for yourself:

    QUOTE:

The undeniable truth: In the grand casino of derivatives trading, JPMorgan Chase is overwhelmingly and unabashedly the biggest player of them all. As you can plainly see in the table above, it controls ...
    • $91.7 trillion in derivatives, or over 53% of all derivatives held by U.S. commercial banks, among which are ...
    • nearly $7.8 trillion in the oft-inflammable credit derivatives, or 55.6% of the total.
    • And all with little more than $1.2 trillion in assets!
    END QUOTE

No surprise why JP Morgan "bought" BSC.

And to me it is clear where the cancer of the Amercian financial system is.

You are missing the corollary: JP Morgan is presently serving as the institutional successor to the person of the same name - and in relation to the 1920's/1930's markets vs. today's markets.

The BSC fandango is a good rhyme with past history.

Of course, JPM the man had a very different environment and footprint as JPM the bank (+ Fed), hence my view that the results will not be the same.
