...reminds me of the game Monopoly. Ben Bernanke is the banker. I edited the rules of Monopoly a bit;
OBJECT - The object of the game is to become wealthy through buying, renting and selling of property.
EQUIPMENT - The equipment consists of cheap money, creative financing and property.
PREPARATION – The Bank sets a very low interest rate and brokers create affordable mortgages for all players.
BANKER - Select as Banker a player who will also make a good Auctioneer later. The Banker may elect to act only as Banker and Auctioneer.
THE BANK - The Bank "never goes broke." If the Bank runs out of money, the Banker may issue more by printing more paper.
THE PLAY – When a player lands on a property, they are entitled to buy with little or no money down and charge rent. If the property is owned, they can pay rent on credit. If a player eventually goes broke, they are allowed to walk away. If they are a big player, they can borrow more money from the Bank or trade bad debt for money.
GO - Each time a player lands on GO, the broker increases the amount of money the player is allowed to borrow, using cheap money from the Bank.
BUYING PROPERTY - Whenever you land on an available property, you may buy that property from the broker using creative financing. The broker then combines the mortgage into a CDO it sells at auction to the highest bidder.
PAYING RENT – Renters discover that adjustable rate, interest only loans allow them to be home owners. Why rent when you can own one or more properties?
CHANCE AND COMMUNITY CHEST - When a player lands on either of these spaces, they take the Chance that the Community Chest will foot the bill if something goes wrong.
INCOME TAX – Players pay tax on the total worth of the depreciated price of all the property they can barely afford.
JAIL – You only go to jail when everyone else goes to jail. If you do go to Jail, you may continue buying and selling property and collecting rents.
FREE PARKING - A player landing on this place sells their property to the highest bidder while prices are still going up.
HOUSES - When a player owns many properties, they may borrow more money from the broker based on the inflated value of those properties. The next house a player buys can use inflated value from the last house as equity. The monthly price a player pays a broker for each house is minimal, but is adjustable. Following the above rules, you may buy and erect at any time as many houses as your judgment and financial standing will allow
HOTELS - When a player has four houses, they may buy a hotel from the broker based on the inflated value of those four houses.
BUILDING SHORTAGES –If there are a limited number of houses and hotels available and two or more players wish to buy more, the broker hires an appraiser to inflate the price.
SELLING PROPERTY – Property may be sold to any player for any amount. After the bubble bursts, any buildings the player walks away from must be given back to the broker.
MORTGAGES – (see preparation)
BANKRUPTCY - (see Chance and Community Chest)
