For the last few years i tried to talk to my fellow English men about Iraq/Home prcies etc. I found this to be a waste of time, they simply go on "grasszn" the grass.

        Iraq:-
When we were on the run up to the Iraq war common sense seemed to evapoate from the people around me. These were not foolish people, they run their own bussiness and are quite highly skilled.

However, when ever i asked the question "WHY are we going to war" they get a wide look i their eyes " Saddam is a MAD man, he going to attack us, he going to use WMD on us!" (panic, panic)

I ask "Why would he?"......He knows the west would strike back.....then i attempt to discuss if the fact he was selling oil for Euro's had anything to do with it?

        The $:-
Tried & tried again to get people to see that the insane housing bubble and the credit bubble that went with have "poped"............Its over. Very few people here in Blighty seem to get it. While a few admit under their breath that a recession "Might" be on the way.......they can't seem to get a grip on the fact that the rules have changed.

America is on the bones of her ass, she is being "Mugged" for number 1 spot but China, and then India. While this period is like the late 70's....this time we have Russia/China/India as 1ST World nations (or almost 1st world) to contend with.............it won't be the same this time round!

...........And NO one wants to READ Peter Schiffs book!

I sit here tonight in Liverpool, totaly depressed, American's whom i love & Brits whom i know, can't see what happening......they rather sit in front of the TV and watch the "Pro-gan-da...sorry Programs" that Fox has lined up for them.

As my late Irish Grandfather said to me as a child, "Michael, be very carful about following the herd, they are either being lead off to be milked or lead off to be slaughterd!"

        Too true Grandfather

Try to educate them, then detach yourself from the results.

It's not your fault that people won't entertain reality, don't worry about it.
(Reality has a funny way of smacking people upside the head when it gets ignored for too long)

Do the best you can to protect yourself and those that will actually listen to you.

Be READY when you are right.

That's all you can do, don't worry about the rest, you'll just make yourself crazy. (Trust ME on that one);)

Last thing, REALIZE you are not alone in your quest

In my business (combat aviation) we have a saying R.E. risk "When in doubt, there is no doubt"

Translation: If a risk or potential risk presents itself, there is no question about taking action to mitigate the risk. The only question is how to mitigate and by how much. (this has kept me alive more times than I care to tell you)

Words to live by in our present predicament.
