Venezuela, Ecuador send troops to Colombian border
CARACAS/QUITO (Reuters) - Venezuela and Ecuador sent troops to their borders with Colombia on Sunday after their Andean neighbor bombed Colombian rebels inside Ecuador in an attack Caracas said could spark a war.
Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez also deployed tanks to the frontier, mobilized warplanes and withdrew his diplomats from Bogota in the worst dispute in the unstable region for years.

Troops flood Armenian capital after bloody clashes
Hundreds of troops flooded Armenia's capital today to enforce a state of emergency after clashes between opposition activists protesting against election results and government forces left eight people dead and more than 100 injured.
The bloodshed was the worst political crisis to hit the strategically located, volatile former Soviet nation in nearly a decade. An envoy of Europe's leading security body rushed to Armenia to mediate the conflict. The United States urged both sides to exercise restraint.

Suicide bomb kills 40 in Pakistan

A suicide bomber targeted an assembly of tribal elders yesterday killing more than 40 people in Pakistan's troubled North West Frontier Province.
More than 100 people were injured in the attack in Darra Adam Khel tribal district which has become one of the province's flashpoints in recent months.

Attack on Family Shocks Texas Community

EMORY, Texas (AP) — Angry that her parents demanded she break up with her boyfriend, a teenage girl helped kill her mother and two brothers during a grisly weekend ambush on the family's rural, wooded home, authorities said Sunday.
The 16-year-old girl joined her boyfriend and two others in shooting and stabbing members of the Caffey family in their bedrooms before setting the house on fire, authorities said, confirming what most in this farming town had known since the pre-dawn attack Saturday.
The lone survivor was Terry Caffey, the father. He was shot five times — including twice in the back — before he dragged his bloodied body through the woods in search of help. He awaited surgery Sunday to remove the bullets, Rains County Sheriff David Traylor said.
