        Re: British Prime Minster....rudderless!

Neil Ferguson is to epidemic forecasting as Michael Mann is to climate modelling. Neither is able to support or even provide the "science" behind the headline grabbing computer output "we-are-doomed" numbers that the whole world has adopted as gospel.

So in the case of Ferguson and Imperial College our elected officials are all to happy to turn over the running of our nations to the chief medical officers. This has been, without question, the biggest abdication of responsibility by spineless elected governments in modern history. And in many jurisdictions the coppers have become the Gestapo of this generation.

Oh yes, we hear the same nitwit nonsense in my colony too. "Oil is dead", blah, blah, blah.

Believe me, when we try to re-start our economies it's going to be using petroleum and natural gas.

Having wiped out the services and hospitality sectors, having blown housing sky high in too many places around the world (HK, Sydney, Shanghai, Vancouver, London, Geneva, and on it goes) the only economic sectors left to rebuild our devastated economies and deal with the extraordinary unemployment numbers are goods producing activities and materials.

Unless, of course, we are all going on the dole with UBI (universal basic income).
Here's the Canadian lobbying effort for UBI website:

intermediate to long term, with flying down and more people working from home oil consumption will be reduced and prices should stay lowish. makes the economics of e.g. ev's even more strained.,
