      I'm thinking that Joe's just a placeholder for ...?

Be kinder than necessary because everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle.

        Michelle.

Might as well make it "all in the family".

The past-expiration-date Democrat dinosaurs needed to do a graceful handover to the next generation this time around, but they didn't. They won't. They're too addicted to power. The only way they're going to leave is feet first.

I haven't voted Dem in years but I found several of the younger ones interesting.

I disagreed with Buttigieg on a lot of points but I like his mind. He's a good communicator with a steady temperament and the ability to grasp complexity. He could have had a conciliatory effect on our increasingly factionalized, balkanized country.

Yang showed prescience. He doesn't necessarily have the right stuff to be president but he'd have been great in some kind of cabinet position.

Delaney and Gabbard were interesting, too.

But they caved to to the old and corrupt: Sleepy Joe, HeartBern, and Lady MacBeth waiting in the wings.

What the Dems need is a policy wonk, in the fashion of Clinton (the Bill part of that) or Obama. They always have trouble winning the White House without one of those.

The closest they came on this go around was Elizabeth Warren.

A Gabbard/Butigieg dream ticket, new faces DNC, working for the People, not China based business.

That would have been my dream ticket. Sooner or later the youngsters are going to get power. They're going to take positions I disagree with. That's pretty much inevitable. But at least with a Buttigieg or a Gabbard, they have enough intelligence to temper the worst impulses of their party.

If I was running the show I get the OLD guard OUT!

Gabby & Butty, They could lay out a route map to giving Americans some production jobs, they could also publicly beat down AOC...thus proving themselves in the centre.

Also, If I were they I hang the "Old DNC" out, I set the dogs on them & if I were GABBY I say sorry to the American people.
Sorry for the Russian hacking nonsense
Sorry for what the DNC tried to do to Judge Kavanugh
Sorry for the lies told & the people they were happy to be destroyed

I think that would start to bring back the "Trump DNC".

2024: Tulsi Gabbard leaves the Dems, becomes an Independent. Nicki Haley gets the Republican nomination and picks Gabbard as VP.

I like Tulsi Gabbard and Nikki Haley.

The running joke with my close friends is what I have been asking for since 2006:

filter DOD records for a female officer with well respected operational experience, who is a 1st or 2nd generation Hispanic American, her parents own a bodega she worked in, socially liberal, fiscally conservative, a legit gun owner who scares the shit out of irresponsible firearms users and illegal immigrants, but welcoming both groups if they follow the rules.

And her two most commonly used words are Republic & Constitution.

                        But I would take a Gabbard/Haley Frankenstein 80% hybrid.

Pete Buttigieg I would like to see working in a senior government role that he is passionate about. Same with Yang. They seem like good Americans, I just don’t think they have the backbone and resilience to survive, especially Buttigieg.

Buttigieg and Yang both seem to lack the leadership ruthlessness, nuance, and X factor charisma I’m looking for.
