    Re: Short sighted DNC

While first discounting certain rumours as tin-foil conspiracy, I'm starting to give more credence to reports that the DNC is using Biden to side-step the regular preliminaries and insert a different candidate right before the deadline.

Having an obviously unfit candidate as Biden makes it all too conveniant to provide the cover for this scheme. It's so blatantly obvious that I think a lot of people are mistakenly discounting this scenario.
Who knows who they will insert. Whoever comes out on top from the Covid crisis?

Yes, but that makes them look sh1t............like they couldn't arrange a piss up in bar!

When Trump won I was shocked by the DNC reaction........"Russian Hacking".....& failed to produce ANY (& I mean ANY!) proof of any kind what so ever.....

I sense China had "Bought" that election & the powers to be had enough......If DNC has any sense it would allow "Amtrak Joe" to lose & then the younger members start to do a root & branch clear out........prep the party for a post China world.....the World of new Green working practices (home working/Cyber work place) low carbon footprint....& limted growth due to AI arriving.........

Mike, you know the score as well as anyone. The politicians are doing this deliberately, hoping it will push them over the top in the election. It's an all-out political-coup. Anything goes and the only thing that matters is winning. They burned the boats and either they make it or they fall. Its existential now. The lockdowns prove it, as far as I'm concerned. It started with Russiagate and this Flynn thing is all the proof one needs.

When Trump won the election and Gen. Flynn was appointed incoming National Security Advisor, the anxiety running through the Democrat-controlled Deep State must have been palpable. On the verge of having to surrender power to its enemies, they decided to go for broke and set in motion a suite of operations to get rid of both Flynn and Trump. On December 29, late in the transition-of-power, Obama confiscated the country retreat properties in Maryland and Long Island owned by the Russian embassy and expelled 35 embassy employees, supposedly as payback for Russia's so called interference in the election. This prompted a conversation between incoming National Security Advisor Flynn and Russian ambassador Sergey Kislyak that Comey and McCabe used as the pretense to kick off an operation to entrap General Flynn based on the preposterous idea that high American officials should not communicate with diplomats. Comey sends Strzok and Pientka to do their shady interview with Flynn, carried out in obvious bad faith and without any meaningful basis to believe the man was doing anything remotely questionable. And by the time it started working its way though the court, it hardly took a Harvard JD to understand that it was a malicious prosecution from the get go.

Judge Sullivan overlooked all manner of flagrant misconduct by DOJ prosecutors for three years, including concealment of exculpatory evidence by the FBI that favored General Flynn. On top of that, Flynn’s previous attorneys from the DC law firm of Covington and Burling - where not coincidentally Obama’s Attorney General Eric Holder is a partner - represented Gen. Flynn rather incompetently for an $800 an hour white shoe firm and did so apparently quite knowingly, going so far as to refuse an immunity deal with Congress without so much as informing their client of its very existence. Any fair reading of this case would have the judge cite the DOJ lawyers for criminal contempt at a minimum, at the very least to preserve what remains of his fast eroding credibility.

It seems Attorney General Barr has allowed this to go on as long as it has in the hope that the sheer weight of evidence against the FBI will force Judge Sullivan to do his duty and dismiss the case against Flynn. Barr has in in his power to intervene, as of course does Trump, but doing so would be a clear signal to all but the most distracted and disinterested that the Federal court could not be trusted to uphold the rule-of-law. Russiagate amounts to a seditious conspiracy by several agencies of government against a duly elected chief executive and stands as a singularly historical attempt, bigger even than Watergate, to overthrow a President of the United States by illegitimate means. The only greater crime was the extrajudicial execution of John F. Kennedy.

In the case of Trump, the conspiracy extends to sitting and former members of congress including Senator Mark Warner, Senator Richard Burr, and Rep. Adam Schiff, current or former government officials from Barack Obama, to Susan Rice, John Brennan, James Clapper, James Comey, Andrew McCabe, Rod Rosenstein, John Carlin, Mary McCord, Michael Atkinson, James Baker (at DOJ), James Baker (at DOD), Loretta Lynch, Sally Yates, Dana Boente, Peter Strzok, Lisa Page, Joseph Pientka, William Priestap, Bruce Ohr, Kevin Clinesmith, Robert Mueller, Andrew Weissmann, Aaron Zebley, Jeanie Rhee, David Lauffman, all the way down to such bit players as so-called whistle blowers Eric Ciaramella and Col. Alexander Vindman, and private actors and assets in the media and lobbies and big law firms like Glenn Simpson, Nellie Ohr, Christopher Steele, Stefan Halper, Sidney Blumenthal, Cody Shearer, David Kramer, and others who are clearly unindicted co-conspirators, like Dean Baquet, Martin Baron, Jeff Zucker, Andrew Lack, Rachel Maddow, Lawrence O’Donnell, Chris Cuomo, Joe Scarborough, David Corn, David Ignatius, and Ari Melber. Russiagate was the greatest scandal in US history. Until, that is, the lockdown and the deliberate destruction of the US economy in response to this coronavirus, precipitating a crisis as grave as almost any in our national history at least since the Civil War.

The idea that a party so debased and so thoroughly corrupt could even envision permitting its younger members to do a root & branch clear out under any circumstance is a fantasy and fairy tale worthy of Tolkein, for it would require an unmasking of such nefarious and criminal acts that would not merely end the careers and freedom of hundreds of elite actors, but undermine the very foundations of governance, law, and media. We're far from even the beginning of the end of this crisis and I expect a sh!tstorm engulfing us all before it is finally said and done. When it does finally end, so too will it end the United States of America as we've know in our lifetimes and our parent's lifetimes. And there is no guarantee that what comes after will be a restoration of the constitutional republic or some new form of government unseen in our history.

              Re: Short sighted DNC

To this outsider, looking in, the DNC appears a bi-coastal party of the NY Financial set, the Hollywood celebrity elite, Silicon Valley and the tenured intelligentsia. All of whom will survive the present calamity relatively intact.

Frankly, there isn't anybody to represent "Joe Lunchbucket" any more. And that should be abundantly clear as this virus episode unfolds. The folks working in the hair salons, and everyone else like them, have no political voice whatsoever now. They don't have the "work from home" option the managerial white-collars do to maintain their incomes.

The wealth gap is going to become a gaping chasm with a lot of workers trying to defy economic gravity like so many Wile E. Coyotes.

AP Exclusive: Justice Dept dropping Flynn’s criminal case
By MICHAEL BALSAMO and ERIC TUCKER
WASHINGTON (AP) — The Justice Department on Thursday said it is dropping the criminal case against President Donald Trump’s first national security adviser, Michael Flynn, abandoning a prosecution that became a rallying cry for the president and his supporters in attacking the FBI’s Trump-Russia investigation.

The move is a stunning reversal for one of the signature cases brought by special counsel Robert Mueller. It comes even though prosecutors for the past three years have maintained that Flynn lied to the FBI in a January 2017 interview about his conversations with the Russian ambassador.

Flynn himself admitted as much, pleading guilty before asking to withdraw the plea, and became a key cooperator for Mueller the special counel investigated ties between Russia and the 2016 Trump campaign.

In court documents being filed Thursday, the Justice Department said it is dropping the case “after a considered review of all the facts and circumstances of this case, including newly discovered and disclosed information.” The documents were obtained by The Associated Press...
