Yeah. I was just thinking how great it would be if we knew of a trusted, long-established macroeconomic/political analyst we could look to for insight?

You know, someone who has a demonstrated track record of developing long-form and thoughtful analyses of these sorts of macro events. Someone who takes a measured, careful approach and isn't prone to grandstanding or getting out on a limb. Because having someone whose winning past performance, not just in calling tops and bottoms, but really getting down to the nuts and bolts of macroeconomics, the political economy, and generally peeling back the curtain would really come in so handy right now, wouldn't it?

Stick with me now, but I bet they might even be able to charge a subscription or membership fee to cover their effort, maybe make a little more? Crazy, I know. There goes Woodsman again with his harebrained ideas, you're probably saying to yourself.

Still, wouldn't it be awesome if we could find such a person, especially in these times where misinformation, half-truths, and personal bias lead us down so many blind alleys? That's not to say batting ideas around with all y'all good folks isn't a grand old time, but it's not exactly the sort of thing I'd be comfortable with in betting my pension check, know what I mean?

Too bad for us. Seems like we're on our own.
