My first sled was a '71 Yamaha. Two cylinder, 2-stroke, automatic oil injectors and dual carbs (you can see the induction horns in the picture).
The only thing that had any chance of keeping up with it were the Kawasaki powered Arctic Cats.
40 hp, which was enormous in the day. My nephews are running modified turbocharged Bombardier engines on their sleds now, that are pushing 200 hp.

The Yami dealer would hand out little orange stickers that said "Wish I was a Yamaha". By the time we were done for the day every Ski-Doo and Polaris on the mountain had one stuck on it.
