Got LOTS of cash in the bank, or so I thought.......went to draw £300 out & got it in £10 notes only!
Rumor round the bank was cash will be rationed shortly.

Governments have been wanting to ban cash for a long time. "Germy money" will give them a great excuse, conveniently overlooking the HUGE disease vectors posed by signature pads and stylus pens. I refuse to touch those things.

I always keep some Lysol Daily Cleanser wipes in a ziploc baggie in my purse and pocket for touch screens and such. I actually cover my hand with the wipe if I have to touch things like that. LDC is hypochlorus acid; it's at least as effective as bleach-based disinfectants but skin-safe. It's the stuff that Vetricin is made from, but more concentrated and a lot cheaper.

I also keep a plastic grocery bag in my car to cover my hand when I'm pumping gas. Then when I'm finished I also wipe down with Lysol Daily Cleanser. I don't know if it helps or not, but gas pump buttons and handles are some of the germiest things you'll ever touch.

problem with digital money is how to do payoffs, black ops, etc. otoh, i'm sure someone could figure it out - shell corps, cutouts through the caymans, whatever, but much less handy than, e.g., shipping pallets of bills to a foreign gov't.

"They" wish to keep CASH, England is about to pass laws enforcing CASH.......My little problem is EVERYONE turning up & panic-withdrawing cash......
