I do so like the American way of doing things.............The Limey way was like this:-

1. 1st force a company making a good product (Rover, the BMW of its day) to produce a nasty little shit box
2. Ensure its Bloody death trap
3. Ensure it falls to bits
4. Ensure that so poorly engineered that you LOSE money on every one built for 30 years!
5. Carry on selling it for less than it cost even when Ford sends you a report detailing Where your losing money
6. Let it bust the company
7 Get a bale out
8 Build a square version of it & lose money on that

9 Ensure its still a death trap.

Yes!!! I love my P71 with its shiny chrome spotlight. (I am easy to entertain.)

I find this car very appearing...........wouldn't work in the UK but Great for the US.
