Brexit update/2

Ok, so May has failed 110% with this............she can't get the Right wing of party to water down Brexit.
She is getting very little if any help from the ECCP.
Labour is simply giving her the run-a-round.

What to do?
Brexit is a nightmare, not lest because of Northen Ireland.........so I guess she don the following:-

Request a delay (June ish)

Resign/call on election (may ish)

Try to arrange things so the Tory party "just" comes 2nd

Pass the buck to Labour.

About the best she can do, lots of BAD things coming down the pike anyway even with out Brexit.


Only fly in the soup is if the ECCP does NOT give her more time (I think they will).

Problem is trying to have your cake and eat it. We got a plan. Yanks will finance the bond float to execute it too, if folks in Ireland want us to and we're asked to. Plenty of old timers would drive a quarter of their social security checks into it and go without personally just to see it happen.

Yeah. Not a new idea. But folks have put a lot of effort into thinking it through.

Its problem-matic .........we where making great progress many years ago, but a girl got raped south of the Border, the family tried to get her an abortion. Just as they were going the Government of Ireland stepped in & stopped her travel. Everyone screemed that she was Euro-cit & as such she had right to free travel!

They still stopped it.

Those in the North fear being "Ruled by Rome".

Oh it's definitely problematic. But Good Friday was a step. And a lot has changed since '92. Now we've had what? 2+ years of no gov in Stormont and no end in sight. Whole green energy scandal and the DUP. Permanent direct rule from London with the forced disruption of Brexit and possible blatant violation of Good Friday changes the math.

What am saying its not a "Black/White" problem, its full of grey areas.................no good guys, no bad guys.......just grey guys......some grey-er than others.

There's a joke in there somewhere about it being a "Black/Tan" problem. But in all seriousness, no need to get up on the high horse. Just saying a crash out that voids Good Friday changes the math. Scuttlebutt I'm getting is the Home Office really flubbed the immigration rules and folks are pissed.
