I certainly do not want to deport undocumented immigrants, except for criminals and MS 13 plus other gangs.

The undocumented should and will pay taxes and be granted citizenship over the next couple of decades, but they have to go through the process just like legal immigrants.
We must have a system that is fair to all. As said earlier some of the undocumented have been paying taxes.

I respect your argument. You believe in justice and helping the downtrodden to be uplifted for a better life. I concur with you in this.

I do not agree we are harming the Civil War admendments. The blacks were brought here against their will, and treated inhumanely. The 13th,14th, and 15th admendments were created to right this wrong. Immigrants who cross illegally are not forced to come, and are treated humanely. This is a big difference.

Unlike many other nations we welcome immigrants from every race, religion, creed, gender, and nationality. Let us continue.

Considering my grandpa came here from Ireland, and my father is a citizen of an immigrant by virtue of birthright, forgive me if I don't buy your argument. Come after the 14th. Watch what happens. I promise, it is folly. It will damage the country irrevocably. If you thought Social Security was the third rail of American politics, keep attacking the Civil War Amendments, and watch what kind of reaction you get.

You mistake, too, the people of the North. They are a peaceble people, but an earnest people, and they will fight, too. They are not going to let this county be destroyed without a mighty effort to save it.

I would caution against quoting Sherman. There is ample historical evidence that Sheridan and Sherman ordered and participated in genocide against American Indian men, women, and children.
